We have been awarded the CARTANYA 2024 AWARD, granted by the Diputació de Tarragona.

Over approximately 370 km by e-bike or mountain bike and 430 km by road bike, THE 3 KINGDOMS route links 3 territories around the Ports Mountain range.
The route stretches from Tortosa to Morella through the Montsià flat lands and the Cèrvol river Valley, discovering lands of thousand-year-old olive trees, truffles and dinosaurs.
From Morella to Alcañiz it crosses the Ports Mountain Range and the Matrarranya and the “Bajo Aragon Histórico” lands, taking in captivating sceneries, wildlife and picturesque villages and towns where time seems to have stopped still.
Then from Alcañiz to Tortosa following the greenway “La Via Verda de la Val de Zafan”, coming across surprising places, Natural Park of the Ports, lands of wines, olive oils and fruits, the Ebro River, tunnels which hide stories of battles, high quality gastronomy and mountains… and the locals…
Historical, multi-cultural, modern and the gateway and crossroads of different civilisations, the capital of Baix Ebre and the most populated city of Terres de l’Ebre presents itself as a two-thousand-year-old city in front of the Massís dels Ports.
The Iberians chose this enclave to settle here and later, the Romans called it Dertusa.
With the Ebre river as a connecting route, the so-called city of the 3 cultures: Christian, Jewish and Arab reminds the visitor who walks through its streets of a splendid past that reached its peak during the Renaissance period (16th century) when Tortosa became one of the most important cities in the country.
Proof of this past are the impressive Castell de la Suda (departure and arrival point of the 3 Kingdoms), the Gothic Cathedral of Santa Maria, elegant modernist buildings and a magnificent and hidden Jewish Quarter.
A stroll through the old quarter and along the banks of the Ebre river to the iron bridge is a must to discover the city of Tortosa.
Imposing, impressive and marked by its geographical location, this small and charming town has borne witness to important historical episodes.
Since prehistoric times, a multitude of civilisations and cultures have seen in the town’s capricious form an almost impregnable fortress that has marked its historical role.
A town of passage and crossing of roads between Catalonia, Aragon and Valencia, its imposing castle and walls have been the scene of numerous events and battles with important figures such as Rodrigo Díaz de Vivar ‘El Cid Campeador’ and Ramón Cabrera ‘El Tigre del Maestrat’.
Originally part of the Crown of Aragon, in 1270 it became part of the Kingdom of Valencia and became the First Town of the Kingdom in the Corts Valencianes, second only to Valencia and Xàtiva.
Without a doubt, Morella and its streets do not leave the traveller indifferent.
Dominant, ‘motorbike lover’ and testimony to the passage of time since prehistoric times with the cave paintings found in the Val del Toll de l’Aigua Amarga (declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO), the capital of Lower Aragon imposingly dominates the vast plain of this territory.
Its origins date back to the Middle Ages, when it acquired its charter in 1157 from Ramon Berenguer IV, and a few years later a large area of the region was granted to the Order of Calatrava.
Testimonies of this Calatrava domination are the castle of the city, nowadays converted into a Parador Nacional and which keeps fantastic paintings, the great bell tower of Santa Maria la Major or the majestic Llotja of the 15th century.
In the same way, the route of the Voltes del Fred leads us to discover the still preserved set of medieval passages, cellar and fridge.
Nowadays, the beautiful landscape of La Estanca and, above all, the Motorland circuit, where the Moto GP races are held, mark the life of the city of Alcañiz.
